Betting On Strictly

Can I bet on Strictly? Absolutely. Betting on TV shows has become increasingly popular in recent years and Strictly in particular is very popular. There are multiple betting markets such as outright winner, gender of winner, professional dancer to win and sometimes contestants (based on rumours before the show starts).

Typically, the odds before the first show are likely to change massively after the first show - the bookmakers make their best guess at how good each contestant is at ball room dancing. This means you might be able to find good value odds before the first show. Take for example, Bill Baily in 2020 - Bill started the show at 50/1 and went on to win the whole competition! A £5 bet on Bill Baily would have returned £250.

In fact, a great article in Metro looked at how often the bookmakers correctly predicted the winner of Strictly at the start of the show - the answer, only twice in twenty series!

How can I see the odds for Strictly? The odds for each contestant will be available once the celebrities are announced - this is usually August. Sometimes bookmakers will offer odds on which contestants will be announced.

Which are the best bookmakers for Strictly betting? Strictly odds aren’t offered by every bookmaker in the UK, so it’s worth waiting to see which bookmakers are available when the competition starts. Then, it’s worth comparing odds to see which bookmaker has the best odds for the contestant you want to bet on - don’t worry, we will feature all of these odds here on tvodds.co.uk.
